The
PADI Divemaster course is for those people who decide that Scuba
Diving can be more than a recreational endeavor and are ready
to explore the professional potential it may hold. The responsibility
of the Divemaster is considerable, however the rewards of being
a Divemaster, in terms of personal satisfaction and achievement,
are unparalleled.
Prerequisites for the Divemaster course include:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- PADI Rescue Diver certification
- A valid diving medical to Australian standard AS 4005.1or
2299
- No less than 20 logged Scuba Dives
- Please note: To complete the PADI Divemaster certification
you will need to have completed 60 logged Scuba Dives.
The PADI Divemaster course consists of three modules over
3 weeks:
- Module One: Watermanship and Skills Assessment.
- Module Two: Diving Knowledge Development
- Module Three: Practical Application (this involves
training and experience in the supervisory aspect of being
a Divemaster)
The
Divemaster Course involves an internship during which the Divemaster
candidate will serve as an instructional assistant to a qualified
PADI instructor. The objectives are to gain familiarity with
the diver-training process, develop an awareness of typical
student problems and learn how to supervise and control divers
in general. Includes two 3 day/2 night trip to sea.
